PAT MONROE ANTIQUES is situated in the renowned Whit Hanks complex in downtown Austin at Austin's antiques furniture center. Pat's Antique Collection consists of exceptionally fine French, Italian and English antique furniture. Pat specializes in bringing together the French furniture from the Regence period through Napoleon III, covering the 18th and 19th century. Each piece is evaluated for style, distinction and integrity of the piece. Her connections to some of Europe's finest sources enable her to have first choice for her clients. She looks for fine French antiques that are uncommon and possess a stylish chic. Each piece must meet the essential characteristics of authenticity, fine quality of material and workmanship, beauty and excellence in condition to be ready for homeowner, designer or collector alike. Recently she has added pieces from the Art Deco era as well as Swedish Antiques to add a lighter look for spring and summer.
PAT MONROE ANTIQUES has added contemporary pieces to mix with antique. Antiques are often used as an accent piece in today's contemporary look. The desire to mix pieces from the past with today's sleek design gives such an interesting look: Contrasting textiles and finishes; monotone rooms with a glamorous pop of color; rustic pieces with gilt accents or a stunning, unusual piece standing against a simple wall. These are examples of the way people are incorporating beauty and interest within the environment they live. They not only want comfort they also want to be surrounded by lovely furnishings. In this way people are taking responsibility for the reactions they have (consciously or not) to the furnishings they see every day.
Mixing of antiques and contemporary furnishings is the impetus for Pat. PAT MONROE ANTIQUES offers customers one place to buy comfort, quality and beauty together. Pat is known for "her eye, her professionalism, and her integrity". The casual elegance for which the gallery is known translates into vignettes of romance, of heroics, of the importance of family, of coziness, clean artistic sleekness. The furniture is smart, stylish and sophisticated - just right for modern living.
PAT MONROE ANTIQUES carries antiques, French or English reproductions, and new chic furnishing & accessories, all clearly marked.
You may shop at her online gallery, on the 1stdibs website or come to her newly expanded showroom.
